A grand theatrical experiment has come to a close with the opening of Regular Singing, the fourth and final play in Richard Nelson's saga of the Apple family of Rhinebeck, NY. Set on November 22, 2013, the 50th anniversary of the assassination of John F. Kennedy, the play also opened that night at the Public Theater, directed by the playwright. Joining the celebration were (above) leading ladies Laila Robins, Maryann Plunkett and Sally Murphy and (below) cast members Stephen Kunken and Jay O. Sanders, Nelson, Public Theater artistic director Oskar Eustis and cast member Jon DeVries, photographed by Simon Luethi. Now comes a treat: Regular Singing will be performed in rep with the previous three Apple plays, That Hopey Changey Thing, Sweet and Sad and Sorry. Feed your soul and see them all, through December 15!
